Bag Sizes

GeoRock Rock Bag Filter Units® are available in sizes ranging from 0.5Te to 12Te, allowing customers to select the right unit for everything from light erosion control to heavy-duty scour protection.
Each size is proportionally designed with high-strength Raschel-knitted HDPE/PET mesh, internal vertical reinforcement ropes, and a single lifting ring for fast, accurate installation.
Smaller units are ideal for confined or shallow environments, while larger bags provide substantial mass and stability for coastal, river, and subsea applications.
Multiple mesh layers and lifting configurations are tailored to each weight class to ensure safe handling and long-term durability, giving designers a flexible, modular system that can be scaled precisely to project requirements.

Why Rock Bag Filter Units Stand Out

-
Fast & Flexible Deployment: Prefilled units pop into place with the Self‑Autonomous Hook™, reshaping to fit contours with ease.
-
Proven Durability: Constructed with UV wear resistant PE/HDPE synthetics for long‑term resilience, even in harsh environments.
-
Eco‑Conscious Design: Supports marine-life colonisation & avoids the need for poured concrete in sensitive environments.
-
Scalable & Adaptable: Available in 0.5Te - 12Te sizes, fitting everything from localized erosion repairs to offshore installations.
The Material

Rock Bag Filter Units® are manufactured using high-performance HDPE or PET mesh. Both materials are selected for strength, durability and resistance to marine, riverine and coastal environments. Where polyester is used, virgin feedstock is specified to support material consistency, traceability and long-term performance in critical erosion and scour protection applications.

Filling Method

-
Rock Bag Filter Units® are rapidly filled and simple to install whether it’s above ground or sub-surface. With precise sizes being 0.5Te, 1Te, 2Te, 4Te, 6Te, 8Te, 10Te and 12Te the dimensions, volumes and weights can be incorporated into an engineer’s design along with accurate estimation of other items such as rock, labour, crane, transportation etc.
-
The circular design of our filling jig increases daily output by 30% and maintains the best possible shape for safe lifting, transporting and placement without damage.
-
A small team can fill 100 bags per day comfortably.

Delivery

Rock Bag Filter Units® are fast and economical to deploy. Filling can take place directly on site or at an alternative location prior to transport. GeoRock can assist with on-site training, sale or hire of filling stations, project management to ensure safe and accurate placement of rock bag filter units®, quarry and transport contacts.
